(April 27 - 29. 2007) FTX '07 is now history! A note from Jack:
Another year and another FTX has come and gone. It was a complete blast
and this was all because of the people that put so much into it, from
the very first concept meeting at Picadilly's, to the final battle
of "Monster Island." It was everyone there that made this special and I
couldn't imagine it without any of you. That includes the players,
actors, staff, planners, and those who did a little of it all. I can
easily say that at some point in the distant future I am going to look
back on these times as some of the best days of my life. I hope that
day, where I sit around laughing about this past weekend, is at FTX
number 25.
Thanks to all of you and I hope to see you again soon, and if not, then
next year at FTX number 3.

(Nov 4th, 2006) TIMEGATE IV: Definitely our most successful TimeGate so far. We had our biggest attendance by far, bigger activities, excellent panels, and a smashing dinner. We not only had the full-size Stargate out in front of the building, but Barrie M. Clark drove all the way from South Carolina to show off his own creation: a life-size, fully operational DALEK. It was one of the hits of the day. We had a special performance by the Atlanta Radio Theatre Company as well, which was a very special treat. We're currently building up to TG5, so stay tuned for further details!
(Nov 19th, 2005) TIMEGATE III: TimeGate III has now come and gone! We had a great time with some interesting panels, some great videos (SG and DW epsiodes, music videos, parodies, etc), a rousing game a Scene It, a very successful costume contest (with the most entries we've ever had!), great live music by Hyperdrive, lots of great gaming provided by The Dragon's Horde and Looney Labs, and a whole lot more! Check the TG website for a full recap of the day's schedule. New photos will be posted there very soon!
(Sept 2-5, 2005) DRAGON*CON! Stay tuned for reports and reviews from this year's geek high holiday, the Stargate Atlanta room party, the fan table, etc.
(Jul 9, 2005) TimeGate II: The first one went over so well we were asked to stage a second one! Attendance was up from the first, we had more gaming, more videos, more panels, and a whole lot more fun. Hyperdrive performed once again, plus we added one new major feature: a big group game of Scene It, which went over like gangbusters (we were requested to slot 3 hours for it next time instead of only 1!). Thanks everyone!
(Mar. 26, 2005) TimeGate: a one-day event brought to you by Stargate Atlanta and the Atlanta Gallifreyans. This special event featured lots of great Stargate content, including a couple of panels, some games, screenings of select Stargate episodes, and even our own Stargate baby shower! Plus we had Doctor Who panels, documentaries, board games, and a screening of the first episode of the new Doctor Who series, which debuted on BBC1 the same night! There was live music by Hyperdrive, a buffet, a costume contest, open and tournament gaming... It was a full day of fun. For more info, go to the TimeGate site, and stay tuned for TimeGate II!
(Jan. 21 - 23, 2005) Chattacon in Chattanooga, TN! We had very few Star Gate cosplayers and I believe the very
few were Thomas and I. Susan worked her butt off all weekend selling raffle tickets for the cloak and the Star Gate RPG
book and made our group a good profit.
- The raffle on the RPG book—$72
- 1 membership from Hunstville, AL (yay!)—$15
- 2 shirts—$22
- Seeing Barrie offer a free hug to every one who purchased a raffle ticket—Priceless!
A profit like that made at such a small con is awesome; we should do really well at the next one.
The raffle took place Saturday night at 9:15 and it gathered a nice-sized crowd.
To sum up the weekend it was fun, cold and 80% of the people at Chatta were drunk. The other 20% were either under age or hadn't been there long enough to get drunk. I am looking forward to next year. =)

(Dec. 4th) A big thanks to Erin and Jason for opening their home to us crazy folks for our First Anniversary Party!! I enjoyed playing pool, and I noticed some folks playing darts, too. And thanks to all for the yummy food and to Erin and Thomas for the yummy, yummy punches. I want the recipes for both the symbiote punch and the apple pie punch!! Most of all I enjoyed hanging out with everybody. Welcome to our new members, Marty and Lynn, Rose, Cherie and Angela. And, of course, it was great to see Dave, Mike, Libby, Blondie, Aaron, Thomas, Barrie, Steve, Erin and Jason again (along with Jeff and Christian). Sadly, Dave is leaving us for either Wichita or OKC in January.
-Susan
(Oct. 23rd) Tony gave a rock awesome Halloween party at The Dragon's Horde!! Lots of folks from the gaming scene and anime scene, plus, of course, a few of us from Stargate Atlanta! (Kudos to Marty and Lynne who had the best costumes!) Tony had a DJ playing serious jam-up tunes and almost everybody was hitting the dance floor! Thanks Tony!!! We can't wait til your next party!
(Sept. 3-6) DRAGON*CON at Hyatt Regency and Marriott Marquis in downtown Atlanta. Stargate guests included David Winning (Director of Stargate: Atlantis) and Steve Bacic (Lord Camulus on the two-part Season 8 opener and regular cast member on Andromeda)
Panels and Events included:
- Sept. 3rd, 1PM-2PM—PANEL: "Living the Dream: Stargate Delta" (Courtland Room)

- Sept. 3rd, 10PM-1AM—STARGATE 10TH ANNIVERSARY PARTY (Courtland Room)
in the Courtland Room of the Hyatt Regency, sponsored by Stargate Offworld and Stargate Atlanta. This is a must for all Stargate fans to come together and celebrate Stargate! We will have food and non-alcoholic beverages, so BYOB! (Due to Dragon Con and hotel restrictions). Stargate music videos and trivia contest and raffle
- Sept. 4th, 8:30-9:30PM—PANEL: "Stargate: Atlantis: The Next Generation?" (Courtland Room)
Now that we've had time to get to know the new kids on the block, what's your take on the SG-1 spin-off? Can Jack and Company pass the torch, or do the rookies need more seasoning before going solo?!
- Sept. 4th, 10PM-?—STARGATE PARTY IN CON SUITE
The Dragon Con Suite Director is one of our new members, and he is giving us the con suite including food to throw a Stargate party in the suite on Saturday night!! This is a fantastic opportunity for us to publicize Stargate Atlanta and Stargate Offworld to the general sci-fi community that would not come to our Stargate party!!
- Sept. 5th, 10AM-11AM—PANEL: "SG-1 Egyptology Redux" (Courtland Room)
By popular demand (well, Peter asked and he's popular, so...), we revisit Stargate's take on Egyptology. This
year, our panel of experts includes celebrity guest, Peter Woodward.
- Sept. 5th, 8:30PM-10PM—PANEL: "Stargate Live-Action Role Playing Game (Courtland Room)
Good news, you've had 12 months to hone your tactical and diplomatic skills to a razor edge! Bad news, Bruce has been plotting for 12 months. Who will survive this year's mission?
- Sept. 6th 1PM-2PM— PANEL: "SG-1 Debriefing" (Courtland Room)
Join us for a review of Stargate SG-1's seventh season and the opening episodes of Season 8. Was Anubis disposed of too easily? Does a Jack-lite SG-1 still work? Should Teal'c have hair?
